The Importance of The Table

The Table is one of my happy places – good food and good friends or family gathered for a meal to nourish both body and soul.

When our kids were growing up, we would sometimes eat as late as 9:00 pm, if that’s when everyone was home after activities. We have so many good memories of laughter around the table. It doesn’t have to be a fancy meal, but I made it a high priority to make sure that meals were healthy, not just fast, and that we ate together as a family most nights. Now when our kids come home, we all look forward to gathering around the table.

I’ll share recipes that are tried and true, nutritious, and delicious.  I’m a huge believer that food is a key element of healthy living.  We have this one body—doesn’t it make sense to treat it well?

I should mention that I have been gluten free for over 5 years, as a way to manage 2 autoimmune disorders that cause lots of fatigue.  Some of our favorite recipes I have adapted to be gluten free, while others are recipes that have become favorites as we have evolved our eating style, not having to please young palates all the time.
